New Ford 2023 Ranger

2023 Ford Ranger: Coming Soon to Roscommon

A truck is a great way to add utility and capability to your daily drives. However, not everyone needs a full-size model or wants to deal with its larger size. The midsize Ford Ranger is an appealing choice if you're looking for something that can tow a boat or carry equipment for your small business with less-imposing space requirements. It offers a punchy and efficient EcoBoost engine, strong towing and payload capacities, and many desirable amenities. And for 2023, the Ranger gets even better, returning with a full redesign for its fifth generation.

While Ford has yet to release full details on the 2023 Ranger, what we do know is plenty to get excited about. You can find an overview of the currently available information below. And when the next-gen Ranger finally rolls into our Roscommon dealership, we invite you to visit us for a test drive. We'd love to give you a tour.

New Ford Ranger Trim Levels Available In Roscommon

The Ford Ranger is a capable truck that comes with many benefits. It can take you anywhere you'd like to go, whether that involves a regular trip to the store or office in Gladwin or a weekend adventure into more rugged terrain outside of Houghton Lake. At Hart Ford Lincoln Inc., we carry three trims of the new Ford Ranger, and below, you'll find details regarding each.

XL

Like the other two trims, the XL runs on a 2.3-liter EcoBoost® engine. It has 270 horsepower and a class-leading 310 pound-feet of torque. The XL comes standard with 16-inch silver steel wheels, though there's the option to upgrade. This truck can keep you safe, thanks to pre-collision assist, automatic emergency braking, a rearview camera, and AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control. It can have either vinyl or cloth seats, and it has Bluetooth®, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and a MyKey entry system.

XLT

This mid-level trim comes with some great upgrades. It can have 17- or 18-inch wheels, and it's equipped with automatic high beams. Its enhanced safety package includes lane-keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Its premium cloth seats are nice and comfortable, and they can have under-seat storage for convenience. Notably, the SYNC® 3 infotainment system with an eight-inch touchscreen and smartphone compatibility is standard at this level.

Lariat

This trim has the most refined elements. For starters, in a Ford Ranger Lariat, you'll be treated to leather upholstery. You can have this trim upgraded with voice-activated navigation and a Bang & Olufsen sound system. This is the only trim to come standard with intelligent access with push-button start, which Harrison, MI drivers will appreciate on a daily basis. Plus, it has ambient lighting, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a full set of LED headlamps, taillamps, daytime running lamps, and fog lamps.

Performance

The current Ranger is powered by a 2.3-liter EcoBoost powerplant (270 horsepower, 310 pound-feet of torque) paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel or four-feel drive. It's quick, capable, and one of the most efficient in the segment, and we expect it to carry into the 2023 model.

Ford hasn't provided details about the standard powertrain; however, it has confirmed a Raptor variant will be part of the lineup. The Ranger Raptor employs a burly 3.0-liter twin-turbo V-6 making 392 horses and 430 pound-feet of torque, plus adventure-ready equipment like elevated off-road suspension, all-terrain tires, and locking front and rear differentials.

Design

The 2023 Ranger will be offered as a four-door SuperCrew model or a SuperCab (extended cab) model with rear half-doors. The exterior has been revamped with a bolder aesthetic, including a more squared-up frontend, a larger grille, and dynamic light clusters with C-shaped daytime running lamps. And thanks to a slightly increased width and wheelbase, we expect the fifth-gen Ranger to be even roomier than its predecessor.

The 2023 Ranger features a completely overhauled cabin with rugged and modern design details, like a textured dash and honeycomb-patterned air vents. The fifth-gen Ranger also improves interior versatility through numerous storage options, including a larger center console and door pockets, a hidden dashboard glove box, and a rear underseat compartment.

Technology

The Ranger sees significant infotainment improvements for 2023, including a standard 10.1-inch touchscreen with Ford's latest SYNC 4 OS. Already standard in models like the Ford Edge and F-150, SYNC 4 features intuitive voice command capability, over-the-air updateability, and cable-free smartphone integration via wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additional tech features include a digital instrument panel and a larger optional 12.3-inch vertically oriented touchscreen.

Safety

The 2023 Ranger will offer Ford's cutting-edge driver-assistance technologies, including Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking as standard equipment. While we don't know which will be standard or optional, look for additional Co-Pilot360™ driver aids like Blind Spot Information System, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane-Keeping System, and Adaptive Cruise Control.
